A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Eddie helped pitch his Hillwood High School baseball team to a State Championship in 1977.  He then threw collegiately for the UCLA Bruins.  While at UCLA he obtained his degree in Theatre Arts and by-passed the dream of a professional baseball career in order to pursue his love for acting.  With his acclaimed one man show “MATTY” Frierson combines the best of both worlds and, as an “Honorary Member” of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, he has gone farther in baseball through the stage than he ever could have on the field.  MATTY was the first outside event ever invited to perform at the HOF. For 14 years he was the voice of PETCO Pet Stores and he is also a sought after narrator of audio books.
